Multics Documentation

Version: v3.0.0 Last Updated Feb 20, 2025

Multics is a cross-platform, multiphysics modeling software for positive displacement machines, enabling rapid design assessment and optimization. Multics simulates the operation of hydraulic pumps/motors, considering the micromotions of internal parts, their deformation, and power losses in the lubricating films. It also accounts for fluid aeration and cavitation. The software is highly configurable for different types of pumps and motors. The current presets include swashplate axial piston machines, external gear machines, internal gear machines, and gerotors.

Multics Presets Tutorials

These links will take you directly to detailed documentation for each of the preset units in Multics.

Axial Piston Machine

The Axial Piston Machine (APM) tutorial guides the user through simulation of a swashplate type axial piston pump.

External Gear Machine

The External Gear Machine (EGM) tutorial guides the user through simulation of an external gear pump.

Internal Gear Machine

The Internal Gear Machine (IGM) tutorial guides the user through simulation of an internal gear pump.

Gerotor

The Gerotor tutorial guides the user through simulation of a gerotor.
